What happened at the hospital management Top staff event

Efficient decisions in public health.

On 29th November, at the spectacular Izarra Centre building in Ermua, Igarle organised the event: “Top staff for public hospital management”. The event was aimed exclusively at the Osakidetza centre network and it received 70% representation by that community. The successful event took place as follows: To begin the day, Fran Manzano, Manager of Igarle, accompanied by Diego Gonzalez, responsible for the northern area Business Intelligence at Ibermática, gave a presentation on Health, data and information, efficient decisions in the field of health. They also went into the concept of efficiency through competitiveness. David Monzón, the pre-sales consultant to Igarle, then took the floor to give a presentation on The future of BI, QlikView Business Discovery systems. The two blocks of the event were then presented, one divergent and the other convergent. In the first part, that is, the divergent one, several presentations were made on: economic-financial area, with Aitor Basurto from Igarle, assistance area, with Javier Sanchez and Gaizka Etxebarria from Igarle, and Ibermática, CMBD and GRD, with Esteva Casanova from QlikView, logistics and warehouses, with Mikel Zarobe from Igarle, patient and visiting logistics, with Saioa Mujika from Igarle, surgical instrument control and traceability with Fran Manzano from Igarle, methodology and framework with Jose Andrés López from Igarle, top staff in the National Health Service with Esteva Casanova from QlikView and, finally, geo-sanitary applications with Guillermo Córdoba. After the first part and before continuing with the second one, there was a short break and those attending were able to have a coffee break. The second and last part, that is, the convergent one, was performed in Work Coffee format. In spite of the organisational complexity of this format, this phase took place with full success, as the guests participated most actively in this Work Coffee, providing new ideas and clarifying doubts concerning each of these. Key indicators were obtained at that practical integrated workshop, from those available at the organisation. And to end with the latter part, there was a short debate concerning the shortcomings and opportunities for analysis of information from the Osakidetza network, reaching the final conclusions. The event was most successful thanks to three aspects above all: first because nearly 100% of the people who had registered attended the event; second, due to the high profile of those attending (Managers and Medical, Financial and IT Directors); and, third, most important, thanks to the building and above all the hall. The hall with its innovative design provided the opportunity to organise the Work Coffee that, as previously mentioned, was spectacular, with total participation.
