UNIFE implements Gaia Net Exchange
Igarle consolidates its bid for electronic document exchange
UNIFE, the article Procurement Centre for Industrial Ironmongery and Supplies, has begun to use the GAIA Net Exchange (GNE) platform for online exchange of documents and information with the majority of its providers. Thanks to this new tool, UNIFE – that operates under a Co-operative Company formula, bringing together about fifty companies from the sector – will improve its competitiveness and communication with its providers, independent of the computer system they may use, with fully digitized data, adapted to the electronic invoice. From the Procurement Centre, they emphasise that their bid for GNE is due to the use of the platform allowing them to “decrease errors, reduce costs, optimise time, adapting our organisation to the digital forms and, above all, expediting online commercial relations with our providers.” Among those providers there are companies such as Fegemu, Ayerbe Industrial Motores, Krafft, Talleres de Escoriaza, Bellota Herramientas, Celesa, ALYCO-Tools, Feliciano Aranzabal, Talleres Mecánicos Bianditz, Juba, Acha, Vda. De E. Arzcarate, Izar Cutting Tools, or Jaz Zubiaurre. A trial implementation shall also be carried out with a member-client, Ferretería Bidasoa. The UNIFE Project also involves technological partners, software manufacturers, such as Addonia, Aner, IDS, Igarle, Informática 68, Solmicro and SPYRO, whose ERPs – in spite of being in a different technological domain -, have been adapted for interconnection thanks to Gaia Net Exchange, thus avoiding duplicated data and the need to adapt them to the structure of each system. Both the providers as well as the technological partners attended the informative conferences to launch the new UNIFE application and implementation in San Sebastian today.
What is GAIA Net Exchange?
GAIA Net Exchange arose from the joint work by the Department of Innovation of the County Council, the GAIA Cluster, and companies in the TIC sector. It was the first State technology platform for automated on-line exchange of documents between companies, a project lead by the companies themselves and open to participation by all organisations that may be interested. The ‘Gaia Net Exchange’ services may be used by any organisation, by any sector and regardless of their present information system, enabling swift progress by organisations toward the “electronic business” scenario. The partnership is formed by the companies: ANER Sistemas Informáticos, Informática 68, Ibermática, Igarle, CTI Soft, Odei, IDS Ingeniería de Sistemas, Webalianza, Grupo CIM-Sofinsa, Solmicro, Proyelia, Sage Logic Control and Euskaltel.
