We work for the demanding automotive sector, manufacturing Zamak components for important customers in this sector. Our processes are very long and the advances, deviations and incidents in the manufacturing process are critical for a sector that is characterized by “Just in Time”. We have two factories for the different processes and the coordination between them is a fundamental requirement in order to properly plan our production loads.

We have implemented a system to capture data on-site by using bar codes for the processes and through integrating robots into the injection machines. The manufacturing registers for both our machines and our operatives no longer use paper, ink or time. Materials consumed, time spent, mediations carried out, incidents and rejects are updated as soon as they occur thereby allowing flexible and solid decision-making. We guarantee full traceability of the product, make the exact manufacturing costs available and the values of quality (guidelines, rejects, causes, etc…) are registered and linked so that the corresponding certificates can be automatically issued. The resources needed for these tasks have been reduced by 70% and the improvements relating to the real-time availability of this information by 30%.

We have been in control of all production processes for years and we have been registering information concerning produced batches. Whenever we lost control of the warehouse, our clients would demand we maintained strict control of traceability. From the moment mobility was implemented in the warehouse, not only do we transmit the exact information about the sent batch to our customer (guaranteeing thus the traceability of the product) but we also know the exact location of every pallet of the finished product, which enables us to make maximum use of space with minimum localization time of the batches to be dispatched. We saved a lot of time on data transcription and human errors it brings along.
