As soon as an assistance notification arrives at our offices, it is registered and assigned to the specialized technician. The notification is sent via GPRS to a hand-held PDA terminal, immediately advising the technician of the need for assistance. The kilometres travelled, the hours involved, the materials used, other costs incurred and the final status of the job, are registered in a very easy way on the job report in the hand-held terminal (50% saving). The invoice is automatically generated in real time and is paid (80% saving in administrative tasks). Following this, the assistance carried out is sent to the central server where the information is updated without the need for additional intervention.
"The challenge arose when we proposed to improve efficiency in communications between our SAT technicians. For our fourteen technicians distributed between four provinces, computerising this process has allowed us to dispense with the administrative personnel required to register and manage this information which, linked to the acceleration in manufacturing processes, enabled us to improve the departmental efficiency by 80%."
