The implementation carried out by ENLOG is part of an integrated project with Volkswagen and Truck&Wheel that manages tire supply to the assembly chain in Pamplona owned by Volkswagen, integrating in an automated manner all the logistics and manufacture processes by the operators on 1st and 2nd level. The process begins with the reception and processing of supply EDI messages to Volkswagen in the plant owned by ENLOG in Zaragoza (Figueruelas), calculating needs and managing orders for its providers of tires and rims (Michelín, Firestone, Pirelli, Ronal,.. etc..). Secondly, each reference is identified; chaotic placements are managed as well as movements from materials to manufacturing, integral process of manufacturing and quality, ending at the entry, placement and/or expedition of a finished product. At the same time, the system manages again in an integrated way administrative and accounting/financial processes. We should point out, as relevant data, that in all this process no document is registered or processed manually, the entire system being based on wireless technology. Total traceability is guaranteed and daily movement in the factory amounts to 1800 pallets which practically implies the daily rotation inside the warehouse. We should also mention that ENLOG supplies wheels for different manufacturers (Volkswagen, Seat, Nissan and Ford) and the system, obviously, manages procedures for all of them. In the end, we must underline the systems’ great ease of use which allowed for this process “revolution” to take place in only 5 months following the signing of the agreement. In the end, once every pallet has been identified, expeditions and transport management takes place, the destination in one case being the logistics operator Truck&Wheel in Pamplona (Arazuri).
